Zen Yoga Happy Back workshop
Keep your back happy with Zen Yoga’s Happy Back workshops

“Excellent few hours working on stretches etc to ease lower back issues at a dedicated back workshop, very friendly environment and all very well explained throughout. Highly recommended.”

Tom, Happy Back workshop attendee 2018

As a yoga teacher, I meet a lot of people starting their yoga journey on a recommendation from a healthcare professional.

Usually, it’s because they’ve got back problems. So I devised a series of workshops using anatomical, physiological and knowledge of Asana (yoga poses) to help keep people’s backs happy! No previous knowledge of yoga is required and the workshops are suitable for all but the most serious of injuries.

In a series of 2 or 3 workshops, you learn in an accessible fashion:

  • The structure of the spine and more broadly, the axial skeleton
  • The muscle groups which are commonly involved in injury
  • Other spine injuries such as disc issues, sacroiliac and piriformis problems and other spinal changes such as scoliosis, kyphosis and stenosis
  • And most importantly, what you can do to keep your back, with its particular issues, happy!

Yoga is a journey of self-discovery; the aim for each workshop is that you learn about your range of movement, your particular injury and then try a suite of targeted stretches to get relief and regain mobility. You’ll take a worksheet of useful stretches home with you.
